Mmmm, mmmm, mmmmm. This wonderful Mexican seasoning can be added to virtually anything you eat! It’s ooh la la spicy with a little sour tang and a ting of saltiness. The label recommends Chile Con Limon for melons, oranges, cucumbers, mangos, watermelon, papaya, jimaca, sliced avocado, apple, coconut, and pineapple. Just imagine the endless possibilities!
Aside for the fruits already listed, I have tried chile with pears (somewhat good), apricots (not so good), and blueberries (just plain weird). My all time favorite has to be mangoes, but since mangoes are not that easily acquired (season, price, quality, etc.) oranges are the next best thing. Dried mangoes sprinkled with chile are also just as good and can be found at most Trader Joe’s. The chile itself is a little hard to find. I bought mine at my local Nob Hill grocer, but if you really can’t find it, it can also be purchased on the Via Nueva site. Also, look out for ladies with little fruit stands. They’ll slice up your choice of fruit, add chile, and squeeze on some fresh lime.
Mmmhm, now go take your taste buds on a roller coaster ride!

YES! I’ve heard that chile spiced mangoes (I believe it’s the Mexican way of eating mangoes) tastes absolutely amazing!
When I first read this blog,
I was like, “HEY VIV,
JUST TRIED THIS RECENTLY.”
And then I saw your name down at the bottom.
